About Me

Howdy, I'm an Nth year graduate student at Texas A&M University. I have an undergraduate degree in design and I'm now pursuing a Master's in Visualization Sciences. I expect to I didn't take this picture. finish later this fall (December at the latest) and pursue my professional goals. I love the challenges and variety that permeate the field of computer graphics. I find some days I get to put on my artist's beret while other days I'm putting on my engineer's hard hat.

I'm currently working for an on-campus research organization called Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES). Along with a small entourage of professors and students I'm creating an FPS-style educational video game that teaches circuit logic. Our hope is that future generations of electrical engineers will solve most of their technical issues using something that resembles the BFG 9000. Or at least know how to solder a circuit board together while fighting off zombies. I'm also working on my thesis which you can read about in great gory detail.

Some of my hobbies include disc golf, architecture, movies, and games (meatspace or virtual space kind). Despite these specifics, I find I enjoy things more and more for their inherent quality of work rather than my personal interest in their category.

I also enjoy philosophy as a hobby. Is it possible to be a hobbyist philosopher? If it is, I hope that I am one. My personal philosophy is roughly an offshoot of Deconstructionism. It appeals to my apparent inability to tie down any word or concept to the physical universe I observe. I also find a relationship between this philosophy and my chosen field of work. In the complete lack of pure concepts in reality I turn to the mathematically defined virtual spaces which satiate my innate desire for perfection.
